We lived in style for a weekend in the West Hollywood (WeHo) neighbourhood in Los Angeles, at Marriott’s new hotel, The West Hollywood EDITION. Boasting 190 guest rooms and suites, this property is elegantly designed for a luxurious stay, and is geared toward a generation of sophisticated travellers who appreciate finer details of modern luxury and design.
The West Hollywood EDITION is located on Sunset Boulevard bordering Beverly Hills, with phenomenal views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills. With high expectations and a reputation to uphold, this property does not disappoint.

Sophisticated minimalist luxury
The hotel was designed by minimalist architect John Pawson. Cool but never cold, the vibe throughout every space of this EDITION was sophistication and luxury. From the grand entrance and very social lobby to the spa, bar and restaurant, the hotel’s identity is clear, blending old Hollywood glamour with futuristic minimalism.
At first, we were surprised with how sparse the room was, but we soon came to realized that they supplied us with everything we needed and none of the things that we didn’t.
The bathroom was yet another space designed for luxury: so spacious, it was about the same size as the bedroom, and equipped with a rainfall shower, plenty of towels, toiletries and products by Le Labo.
In the main area you’ll find a comfortable bed decorated with a cozy fur blanket, a seating area, desk and TV equipped with Netflix and cable. We also received a lovely welcome cookie and hand-written note upon arrival.
Location, location, location
Right off of Sunset Boulevard, the West Hollywood EDITION is located where West Hollywood meets Beverly Hills. Just a short walk away from clubs on Sunset Strip, and minutes away from the shopping district of Melrose Avenue, this hotel has got it all. And if you don’t feel like taking a stroll outside, you’ll find a club just downstairs!
The Rooftop Pool and Bar
This beautiful outdoor rooftop pool overlooks Los Angeles, and with ample seating areas, you can soak up the Southern California sun while sipping on a vast selection of beverages that they have to offer. And if tanning isn’t your thing, there is also plenty of shade on their terraced deck with miniature trees and a large cabana adorned with live plants.
But of course, the main attraction is that pool! The best way to cool down on a hot summer day is to take the plunge into their beautiful pool. It’s large enough for you to swim laps and have your friends and family lounge around in. And don’t worry, it’s heated for the “cooler” days of the year.
