What To Eat at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Nom Voyage — the digital show that we produce for Travel Channel & HGTV — is back for a second season and we’re kicking things off with a magical journey through Universal Orlando Resort, a 3 theme park destination that is also home to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Watch the full episode below:

The park offers an assortment of traditional British fare as well as some inventive dishes & drinks inspired by the books. There are two major full-service restaurants in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: 3 Broomsticks (in Hogsmeade) and Leaky Cauldron (in Diagon Alley).

There is an impressive diversity of things to try at the park but here are 5 of our favourites:

The Great Feast

Even wizards need to fuel up and The Great Feast really is just that: an impressive and substantial platter of rotisserie smoked chicken and spareribs, roasted potatoes, and corn-on-the-cob. It comes with a fresh garden salad so it really is a comprehensive meal with something for everyone.

Butterbeer

Probably the most well-known invention of the Harry Potter universe, this fizzy & creamy concoction is part cream soda, part butterscotch, and it’s super refreshing. Available in cold & frozen versions year-round, and as a hot drink during the fall & winter months.

Plougman’s Platter

This platter serves 2 or 4 and contains an assortment of breads, cheese, pickles, and salads. The real star of the platter is the scotch egg: a hard-boiled egg wrapped in Italian sausage, breaded & deep-fried.

It makes a great mid-day snack!

Toad in the Hole

This dish consists of sausage-like bangers (the texture of bangers is much more smooth than your average sausage) baked into yorkshire pudding. The minted peas round out the dish, while gravy ties it all together.

Butterbeer Soft Serve

You’ll find this as at Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, along with several other refreshing flavours. The portions are generous and it’s the perfect sweet treat on a hot day.

So there you have it, just a few of the dishes & drinks that made an impression on us during our visit to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. You might not go to a theme park expecting to eat, but the food and beverage offering here are just as impressive as the attractions. Now that’s magic!
